Amanda graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University, where she studied International Relations and Anthropology. While at Hopkins, Amanda researched inter-faith community organizing in the Midwest and volunteered with a variety of tutoring and mentorship programs for Baltimore City public school students. Amanda is a Fulbright Scholar and has completed her English Teaching Assistant grant in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
There, she taught K-6 students English and developed a new curriculum on cultural exchange and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. After returning to the United States, Amanda worked as a Youth Advocacy Assistant with Human Rights Watch, creating materials for the organization’s leadership development and advocacy training program. She supported high school students in their advocacy around issues like sustainability, human rights education, and digital privacy.
Amanda is currently based in Washington, D.C., but she was born and raised in Los Angeles and is a proud California native. In her free time, Amanda enjoys dancing, reading, visiting museums, playing mahjong, and exploring new restaurants. She is particularly passionate about encouraging young people to get involved in public service and give back to their communities.
