Dan grew up near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and in high school was a National Merit Semifinalist. He attended Northwestern University, and during his junior year spent a semester studying abroad in Prague. After graduating from Northwestern, Dan moved to Chicago, where he worked as a paralegal, and then moved to Madison to pursue his master’s degree at the La Follette School of Public Affairs at UW-Madison. After grad school, Dan worked at the Wisconsin Evaluation Collaborative (WEC) within the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER) at UW-Madison, conducting qualitative and quantitative research and program evaluation for K-12 projects and initiatives in schools and districts across the state, region, and country. In 2013, Dan joined Galin as a test prep tutor, working with hundreds of students to prepare for the ACT, SAT, and PSAT before becoming Galin’s full-time test prep director. Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys, trivia, traveling, watching and playing sports, cooking, and reading about politics, current events, and history.
