Ellen grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is a proud graduate of historic Booker T. Washington High School. She studied Communication at Saint Louis University on their campuses in St. Louis, Missouri and Madrid, Spain. Upon graduation, she began working in college admissions and discovered her passion for supporting students and families during the college admissions process.
Over the course of her admissions career, she served as an Assistant Director of Admission at DePaul University in Chicago and was the first regionally-based admission officer in California representing her alma mater, Saint Louis University. Additionally, she served as a regionally-based admission officer in Dallas/Ft. Worth for The University of Tulsa. Before joining Galin Education as an essay coach, Ellen worked as a College & Career Counselor at Webster Groves High School in St. Louis.
Ellen has supported thousands of students across the country by visiting their high schools to assist with essay-writing and college-planning workshops. She is excited to continue this work with a goal of helping each student feel proud of their written work when it comes time to submit their applications. When not working with high school students, Ellen enjoys volunteering as a Girl Scout leader and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. She loves camping, cooking, and being outside.
