Ellie was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, where she first began working as a tutor in high school. As a longtime lover of math, she attended the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana and studied Applied Computational Mathematics and Statistics. Ellie continued her tutoring career at Notre Dame’s Hayes-Healy math bunker, and she also worked as a Zamboni assistant in the Compton Family Ice Arena. When she wasn’t working on campus, Ellie was either lounging in a hammock on campus or hanging out with friends on North Quad. During her junior year in 2023, Ellie studied abroad in Hungary, where she lived and studied pure mathematics for six months. In Europe she was able to travel all over the continent, and her favorite things she did abroad were surfing in Ireland and swimming in lake Balaton.
In addition to her over eight years of experience working as an academic tutor, Ellie also loves working with children. She previously taught at a Spanish immersion nature summer camp, worked as a nanny for her favorite high school teacher, and was a part time caretaker for a professor’s daughter at the University of Notre Dame. When she isn’t playing board games or knitting, Ellie is probably out playing with her dog Bandit, or staying cozy on the couch with her cat, Pumpkin.
