Erica began her career teaching college courses in Language Arts and Children's Literature at the University of Florida, where she guided future educators through the writing process and helped them craft personal narratives. She later spent seventeen years teaching English at a private school.
Her path to college counseling began when a former student asked for help with her college application essays. Since then, Erica has worked as an independent college essay coach and served as an interim college and career counselor, supporting students through every stage of the college search and application process.
Erica is certified through NACAC and is an active member of IECA. She enjoys the ever-changing landscape of higher education and is committed to staying current on admissions trends and best practices so she may provide thoughtful, individualized guidance to every student she works with.
Drawing on her years as an educator, Erica believes the college search process should be both a path to finding the right-fit university and an opportunity for self-discovery. Her favorite part of the work is helping students recognize what makes them unique and empowering them to approach the application process with confidence.
On a perfect day, Erica can be found going for a run, reading a good book with a cat on her lap, and planning her next wildlife-focused adventure with her husband.
