Gwen

Gwen's top priority is always helping students understand the “why” behind a concept rather than just the “what.” She believes that this is where the real "lightbulb moment" happens—the point where the underlying logic clicks and everything else starts to make sense. Gwen also believe strongly that learning should be enjoyable, so she bring energy, humor, and creativity to teaching, using memory tricks and relatable analogies not as gimmicks but as tools that reinforce genuine understanding rather than replace it. 

Gwen's areas of expertise include statistics and writing. When it comes to social science–related fields, she has an immense amount of experience and can offer guidance to students interested in fields such as psychology, linguistics, and speech and language pathology, as well as navigating graduate degrees. 

Gwen grew up an hour south of Philadelphia and graduated summa cum laude from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. At Bucknell, she earned BAs in Psychology and Linguistics, worked as a Teaching Assistant for General Chemistry and Introduction to Linguistics for five total semesters, and served as a Residential Advisor in a freshman dorm during her senior year. Gwen was also a Division I diver, ending her career after her junior year due to severe injuries. Through 3.5 years of undergraduate research and a senior honors thesis in psychology, she found a love for research, teaching, and mentoring. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, studying infant multilingual language acquisition. In her free time, Gwen enjoys cooking, painting, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
