Isaiah

Isaiah is passionate about helping students build confidence in mathematics by showing them that success comes through curiosity, persistence, and a willingness to tackle challenging problems. He believes every student can grow as a mathematician with the right support, and he enjoys helping students develop problem-solving strategies that extend far beyond the classroom.

Isaiah earned his honors degree in Mathematics from North Carolina State University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Psychology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His research focuses on student creativity in mathematical problem solving, combining his love of mathematics with a deep interest in how students learn and think.

Throughout his academic career, Isaiah has remained dedicated to mathematics education. While at NC State, he worked as a mathematics and physics tutor, and today he continues to teach through several programs at UW–Madison. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant and summer mathematics instructor, he works with students through the PEOPLE Program, the Department of Mathematics, and the Wisconsin School of Business. He hopes to become a mathematics professor after completing his doctorate while continuing to develop educational programs that inspire students to explore the mathematical sciences.

Originally from the Carolinas, Isaiah now enjoys being part of the Madison community. When he's not working with students, he can often be found experimenting in the kitchen, baking desserts, staying active through basketball and exercise, or capturing landscapes and portraits through photography during his travels.
