Kara is a certified school counselor for the state of Florida who takes pride in helping students find the perfect college fit. Currently, she is an experienced college advisor at a private school in South Florida where she focuses mainly on helping students with course selection, assisting with the formation of balanced college lists and testing plans, college application/essay editing, and creating individualized pathways to meet the students’ goals. She meets regularly with parents and students to ensure that everyone involved in the process is well informed and on track, and presents at various virtual and in person events.
Kara is a member of NACAC and SACAC, and is a firm believer in consistent professional development. She regularly attends/chaperones college tours across the United States, hosts college informational sessions, and builds relationships with college representatives.
Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Kara moved to Florida in 2014 to enjoy life under the sun. Mom of 3 active boys and 2 boisterous French Bulldogs, she loves good food, attending sports events, going on weekend jogs, and occasionally binging on the latest Netflix series. She is excited to join the Galin community while continuing to help students and families navigate the ever changing world of college admissions.
