Katie grew up in Los Angeles, CA before moving to the Madison area where graduated from high school. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where she studied abroad in Caen, France, and served as an intern in London, England for UWSP’s Study Abroad Office. With a career in International Education in mind, she worked as a Study Abroad Advisor at the University of Alabama while completing her master’s degree. Upon returning to Madison, she spent 12 years working in Undergraduate Admissions for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in both international and domestic students. Katie eventually became the Assistant Director of International Admissions, developing student recruitment strategies to diversify the applicant pool and leading the application evaluation process.
Currently based in Central Florida, she is an experienced college counselor at a private school, focusing on building balanced college lists, college application/essay editing, and providing families with an “insider’s” perspective on the college admissions process. She has also served as a seasonal reader for Northeastern University and UC Irvine.
When she’s not counseling students, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, travel planning, and taking advantage of her Disney Annual Pass.
