Kavasia is a Charlotte, North Carolina native and attended Wake Forest University where she majored in Communication and double minored in Journalism and Creative Writing. As a student at Wake Forest, she worked as a student-athlete tutor, an equipment manager for the football team, and at the library. She also wrote for the student-led university newspaper, the Old Gold and Black.

Kavasia fell in love with higher education when she worked as an Assistant Dean at her alma mater’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions post-graduation. After a few years, she transitioned into college counseling where she enjoys helping students explore their passions and apply to colleges that are the right fit. She is currently furthering her education as an M.Ed. candidate at UNC Chapel Hill. In her free time, Kavasia enjoys running, painting, and spending time with her loved ones and German shepherd. A fun fact about her is she is also a filmmaker and has worked as an actress and assistant director on independent film projects!
