Kristen

A voracious reader from day one, Kristen was the yearbook editor at her high school before entering college with the goal of becoming a magazine writer. During and after college and grad school, she held a variety of jobs writing for magazines, newspapers, and public relations offices before becoming editor of the magazine at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education in Washington, DC. This job introduced her to the world of higher education, and she then transitioned into a 20-year consulting career working directly with college and university admissions and marketing offices across the country. Her work included conducting research and developing brand strategy and marketing programs to help colleges recruit, enroll, and retain students.

Kristen lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband, their younger daughter, and their older daughter whenever she’s home from college. She loves that college counseling keeps her connected to teens and higher education, and she enjoys continually learning more about both–in fact, she recently earned a certificate in Professional College Admissions Consulting through UC Berkeley. In her free time, she can be found hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, spoiling her dog, and of course, reading.
