Lauren grew up in Eau Claire, WI, and she attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for her bachelor’s degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Spanish. While attending the university, she was the volunteer coordinator for the university’s speech-language pathology club and worked in two research labs at the Waisman Center in the areas of Autism and bilingualism. Upon graduating, she spent half a year in Costa Rica. During this time, she lived with two host families, supported and learned from adults with disabilities, and completed an internship at the Cleft Lip and Palate Association. Lauren then completed her Master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Speech-Language Pathology. Lauren currently works as a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist in the Madison Metropolitan School District. She is passionate about creating a team among students, families, and teachers to support her students’ academic goals. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and cooking.
