Maija grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and attended St. Olaf College in Minnesota for undergrad. At St. Olaf, Maija studied mathematics and is currently working on her Master’s at UW-Madison. Maija has had a handful of tutoring experiences spanning grades, subjects, and continents. Before working at Galin, Maija had worked as a teaching assistant for a variety of courses at St. Olaf, a classroom assistant at the local elementary school in her college town, and as an English tutor in Nantou, Taiwan.
In addition to tutoring, Maija has worked as a research assistant at the University of Colorado Denver and the University at Buffalo, SUNY. She is happy to provide guidance for students interested in research in the sciences! When she isn’t tutoring, Maija enjoys playing tennis, ultimate frisbee, and hiking.
