Meghan grew up on the coast of North Carolina in a tiny town named Swansboro. Living in “the friendly city by the sea,” she developed a deep appreciation for nature and local history. For college, she headed about an hour and a half south to another coastal city, Wilmington, to attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington. While at UNCW, Meghan was a NC Teaching Fellow and a member of Student Government serving as Academic Affairs Chair. Additionally, she spent a semester studying abroad at Stirling University in Scotland. Meghan spent one year teaching history upon graduation from college, and realized she loved the in-depth analyzing and reflection that is required in English classes. After adding English to her teaching licensure, Meghan returned to her old high school and taught right alongside her own former teachers for three years.
Meghan has had the unique experience of living on multiple college campuses as a non-student resident due to her husband’s career working in Housing & Residence Life at UNC-Wilmington, SUNY-Stony Brook, and Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC. Experiencing many different campuses has given her a unique insight into all of the opportunities that come with life in college! Meghan currently teaches high school English in Raleigh, North Carolina, and is passionate about helping students see the best in themselves. Outside of teaching, she can be found reading about royals of the past and present, watercoloring, and catching up on her favorite shows! Most of all, Meghan loves being with her two young children, husband, and family!
