Mike

Mike is an experienced Teacher, Counselor, Coach, and Higher Education advocate. He has a passion for educational equity and access and for guiding and inspiring students on their vocational path as they become agents of change in their communities.

Mike currently serves students at a Milwaukee-area private high school as the College, Career, and Alumni Support Coordinator. In this role, he focuses on building relationships with students and helping them navigate post-secondary options to ensure they leave ready for their chosen college or career as many are the first in their family to go to college. Prior to this role, Mike served as a Classroom Teacher and Soccer Coach and was awarded Educator of the Year in 2018.

Prior to his work within high schools, Mike served as an Admissions Counselor at Marquette University where he advised and recruited a diverse class of prospective students from Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Throughout his time at Marquette, Mike served as the Liaison to the College of Education and Coordinator of the Youth Options Dual Enrollment Program. He represented Marquette on college panels throughout the country and taught multiple college application workshops, tailored to the needs of students, and emphasizing the importance of self-advocacy in the college search process.

A native of St. Louis, MO, Mike currently lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his family. He is an avid fan of many sports teams (St. Louis Cardinals + Blues, Marquette Golden Eagles, Milwaukee Bucks, and Green Bay Packers), and a lover of all STL BBQ.
