Morgan grew up in Boise, ID where she first learned her love for the outdoors. For her undergraduate education, Morgan moved to Washington to attend the University of Puget Sound and hike in the mountains. There, she TA’d a macro-biology course, tutored fellow biology students through the Phi Sigma Biology Honors Society, and worked with local elementary students in a weekly reading program. Morgan also conducted student research during her junior and senior years of college and after graduation moved to Seattle to pursue further research opportunities.

Morgan recently completed her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology at UW-Madison where she studied the innate immune response to bacterial and fungal infections. During her PhD, Morgan pursued many teaching opportunities. She mentored students in the laboratory, completed the WISCIENCE Teaching Fellows Program, and taught as an Adjunct Professor at Edgewood College. She is currently pursuing a career in biotech in the Madison area and is excited to continue mentoring and teaching students. In her free time, Morgan enjoys running, biking, and hiking outdoors, as well as baking and cooking with her husband.
