Nicole

Nicole grew up in Southern California and is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in English Literature.

Her career started as a qualitative market researcher and focus group moderator. She went on to work as a strategic marketing professional in the biotech, consumer goods, healthcare, and nonprofit industries. A world traveler, she took some time off from the business world to teach English on the JET (Japan Exchange & Teaching) Program to Japanese high school and middle school students in Yokohama. While in Japan, she also accomplished the challenging feat of hiking to the top of Mount Fuji to view the sunrise.

Now, as a college counselor, Nicole enjoys using her marketing and teaching background to guide students in discovering the educational path best suited to their unique learning profiles and academic goals, showcasing their strengths and talents in their college applications, and building college readiness skills and self-determination.

She deeply values the unique gifts of neurodiverse learners and sees their creative problem-solving and out-of-the-box thinking as vital in the classroom, the workplace, and our society. She is a parent of two neurodiverse students and brings these firsthand experiences to the work she does with students and parents. She is also the co-founder and former chair of the Dyslexia Parents Group of Lexington, MA, which supports parents of children with language-based learning differences and collaborates with the school district to effect change and achieve better outcomes for students.

In her free time, Nicole enjoys writing fiction, reading, travel, dancing, yoga, hiking, beachcombing, swimming, and lively conversations with her young adult children.
