Patrick grew up in Grinnell, Iowa, a small town where he would eventually study Philosophy and French at Grinnell College. Throughout his studies at Grinnell, he participated in courses related to education and completed teaching internships in New York City and Nantes, France while also assistant coaching the local high school’s debate team. After graduation, he spent time exploring different career paths to find what suited him best. He completed an AmeriCorps term doing legal aid in Montana, taught English in rural France and was involved with organized labor in Chicago before coming to Madison for graduate school. He is currently working on his Masters of Social Work with the goal of becoming a school social worker. While initially thinking he would follow a mental health route, the field of education once again called his name! Having found his niche, Patrick looks forward to continuing serving the community by working with students on achieving their goals. In his free time, Patrick enjoys fishing, cooking, reading, writing and is a huge tea and soccer aficionado.
