Paula loves working with students and families throughout the college search and application process to identify good-fit colleges where students can thrive. She especially enjoys helping students discover more about who they are and what they seek, and witnessing their growth throughout the journey.
Before joining Galin, Paula worked as an independent marketing communications writer and editor, helping clients (including higher education institutions such as the University of Chicago, American University and Marquette University) differentiate their offerings, highlight their strengths and communicate their successes. She has been a volunteer college essay coach and is finishing the University of California-Irvine certificate program in Independent Educational Consulting.
Paula hails from suburban Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota as a high-school senior through the state’s Post-Secondary Enrollment Options program. After completing Northwestern’s accelerated master’s degree program in journalism, she worked at public relations firms in Chicago and Washington, D.C., as well as in corporate communications. She and her family have lived in Shorewood, Wis.,near the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, since 2006. Paula is also a volunteer with the Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program through Kids Matter Inc., supporting kids in the child welfare system.
