Ramiro grew up in McAllen, Texas, a vibrant border town where he spent time between Texas and Tamaulipas, Mexico. A native bilingual speaker of Spanish and English, Ramiro later became proficient in Arabic as a third language, giving him unique insight into language acquisition from both a childhood and adult perspective—an experience that deeply informs his approach to teaching and connecting with students from diverse backgrounds.

He attended Rice University, where he studied Biochemistry. At Rice, Ramiro discovered a passion for helping others achieve their academic goals through teaching and mentorship. He worked as a paid teaching assistant for the BioSciences department as well as the Language Center, and conducted research in biofluorescence and synthetic biology at the Lu Lab for Synthetic Macromolecular Assemblies.

Following graduation, Ramiro joined Teach For America’s 2024 corps, where he taught Algebra 2 and developed his skills in breaking down complex concepts for diverse learners. He scored in the 98th percentile or higher on both the ACT and SAT, giving him firsthand insight into the strategies and mindsets that lead to testing success.

During his time at Rice, Ramiro served in leadership for an active student organization that hosted multiple weekly events, fostered community and a sense of safety in tense times, and collaborated with local Houston organizations including An Nisa Hope Center, IslamInSpanish, and Uyghur Projects Foundation. Through this role, he developed strong communication skills and a deep commitment to advocacy and community building.

Ramiro is now conducting clinical research at the Medical College of Wisconsin while pursuing medical school admission. His research experience and healthcare ambitions allow him to offer valuable guidance to students interested in medicine and health-related fields. In his free time, Ramiro enjoys writing, attending musicals, singing, going on walks, and hosting friends and family.
