Salma enjoys helping students break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. As a student, she found that slowing down and building a strong foundation helped her approach more challenging problems and exams with confidence, and she aims to provide that same support to her students.
Salma grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, and attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she majored in Neurobiology and Psychology with minors in Digital Media Analytics and Leadership. At UW–Madison, she was heavily involved in research and participated in the Undergraduate Research Scholars program. She worked at the Center for Student Success and Belonging, where she connected students with campus resources and planned events focused on fostering community and belonging. Salma also served on the Undergraduate Symposium Committee, where she helped prepare students to present their research and supported the planning and execution of the annual symposium. Her other involvements included Deliberation Dinners, the Multicultural Grant Council, and the Neuroscience Society. Throughout college, Salma also spent several summers working as a research intern and gaining experience across different areas of research.
When it comes to research and STEM-related fields, Salma has a wide range of experience and can offer guidance to students interested in getting involved in research, studying abroad, exploring health professions, and preparing for graduate school. In her free time, Salma enjoys spending time in nature, creating art, and spending time with family and friends.
