Sam grew up just outside of Detroit and attended Michigan State University, where he studied neuroscience and psychology with the goal of becoming a clinician. During his undergraduate years, he worked extensively as a research assistant in several labs, including the Michigan State University Twin Registry and the Close Relationships Lab. He also served as an undergraduate learning assistant for a neural circuitry course focused on animal behavior.

After graduating, Sam continued his research career at the University of Michigan’s Sleep and Circadian Rhythm Lab. He later moved to Madison to work at Epic, where he contributed to software development supporting clinical trials. Sam is currently pursuing a master’s degree in counseling with the aim of becoming a clinical mental health counselor.

With years of experience supporting and contributing to clinical research, Sam brings a strong foundation in brain science and psychology to his work, particularly in the area of mental health. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, photography, recreational sports, and board games.
