Sydney

Sydney is skilled at tailoring lessons to each student's needs and enjoys helping students break down complex topics. Her favorite part about working with students is that ah-ha! moment when things finally click!

Sydney grew up in northwestern Ohio. She attended Bluffton University for her undergraduate studies and received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry and physics. After graduating, she moved to Lansing, MI to start her PhD in chemistry at Michigan State University where she researched new ways to treat neurodegenerative diseases. In 2024, she transferred to the University of Virginia with her research advisor before completing her degree in late 2025.

Sydney has five years of experience working as a tutor and teaching assistant during her undergraduate and graduate studies and is passionate about finding creative ways to teach STEM-related topics and supporting scientific literacy. In her free time, she enjoys reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, baking, and hiking.
